The IEEE International Joint Conference on Biometrics (IJCB'17) Doctoral Consortium provides a forum for Ph.D. students to discuss their research and career objectives with the international research community in Biometrics. It enables the doctoral students to establish new contacts and collaborations with senior researchers in the community and to get exposure to career options in both academia and industry.
The Doctoral Consortium will be a half-day event, starting in the morning at 10 am with a 30mins spotlight oral session for each student to briefly pitch their thesis research, followed by a poster session where the students can have more interactive discussions with the senior researchers. Attendance will be by invitation only, and each student will be paired with a senior researcher serving as their main mentor in the consortium. The poster session will be followed by a catered lunch where more informal conversation could occur between the student and mentor.
Eligible students are invited to apply for the Doctoral Consortium. Successful applicants are expected to participate actively in the whole program. Please see the full call for details.
